Bergen County is one of the more affluent counties in Northern New Jersey and because of this they have an overabundance of beautiful outdoor wedding venues, parks, gardens, arboretums and other fantastic locations for wedding shoots. In fact, trying to narrow down the list of possible spots for any photographer or bride that’s pressed for time is nearly impossible. So if you’re looking to cut to the chase and get the best of the best right away you’ve come to the right place.

Ramapo Lake Park Castle Ruins: Ringwood, NJ

By far one of the most unique and hauntingly beautiful locations in Bergen County, the Ramapo Lake Park Castle Ruins is exactly what the name implies. The large “castle” structure is an abandoned building in the process of being reclaimed by nature, but it has shoot locations that you won’t find in any other park in the area. There are beautiful stone steps framed in ivy and artistic tree branches. There are water features as water runs down some of the old bricks. Definitely one of the most interesting and unique shoot locations in Bergen County.

Fort Lee Historic Park: Fort Lee, New Jersey

For the urban couple who loves going into New York City, the George Washington Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline are two must have elements. Fort Lee Historic Park has incredible views of both of these famous locations and also over 33 acres of cliff side views of the Hudson River. It’s breathtaking, plus the location also has significant history as it was a station for George Washington’s troops during the Revolutionary war. There are a number of reconstructed historical buildings in the park that would also be wonderful elements for a wedding shoot.

Easton Tower: Paramus, New Jersey

Easton Tower is a great possibility for couples looking for a rustic shoot location. The tower is a preserved stone and wood structure that used to serve as a river mill. It sits right next to a small river and there are plenty gorgeous elements to set up for photos. It’s also relatively easy to get to with a parking lot not too far from the tower.

Greenbrook Waterfall: Palisades Park, New Jersey

If you’re looking for a fall shoot location you can’t get much better in Bergen County than the Greenbrook Waterfall. Nestled along the Shore Path at Palisades Interstate Park, this impressive cascading waterfall is New Jersey’s highest waterfall, over 200 feet high, and empties into the Hudson River. As the autumn leaves change, the whole area around the falls explodes with beautiful reds, golds, and orange which will definitely make for some stunning pictures for your Bergen County wedding photographer to snap.

The Carousel at Van Saun Park: Paramus, New Jersey

Van Saun Park is a well-known and very popular shoot location because of its incredible natural beauty, and its many unique features. Perhaps one of the most unusual things that this park has that you won’t find anywhere else is its outdoor carousel. For the playful fun couple that wants an exceptionally unique photo shoot the Carousel is definitely a great possibility.
